Aviation Authority Police Department. Established in 1990, this group of state-certified
police officers and civilian support personnel carry out the rewarding mission of
"ensuring the safety of the traveling public in the Charleston County Airport
District." The Departments jurisdiction includes the countys three
primary airports: Charleston International, Charleston Executive, and the Mt. Pleasant
Regional Airport.

It is the job of the Aviation Authority police officers to investigate all reported crimes
and emergencies within their jurisdiction, as well as to support civilian aviation by
enforcing federal air regulations and state/local laws. In addition, the Department
provides such services as:

Card (PAEIC).
The card will be held on file for one year.
You will be notified of any Police Department vacancies during that period. If you are
still interested in applying for a position, you must complete an application for the
Charleston County Aviation Authority.
